About Hank, his live piano music, lessons and CDs...
Hank Milligan grew up in Wilmette, IL, a north shore suburb of Chicago. From an early age, Hank studied jazz piano with the renowned teacher and author, Alan Swain. At New Trier High School, Hank became the No. 1 All-State Jazz Pianist two consecutive years. At DePaul University, Hank earned his Bachelor of Music studying classical piano with master teacher, Melody Lord, of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In Chicago, Hank held steady gigs playing piano at the city’s finest venues:
Hilton
Orrington/Evanston,
Lincolnshire Marriot Resort,
Chicago
Yacht Club, and
Cite Elegant Dining
at the Top of Lake Point Towers, 70 stories above ground. Then at sea, as bandmaster for Princess Cruises, Hank directed the show band on many cruise ships, including the original "Love Boat" of the hit television series.
Hank lives in New Fairfield, CT with his wife Karen. In addition to private parties, solo concerts, and senior centers, Hank plays every weekend: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday Brunch at
Casablanca Restaurant in Brookfield. Hank also teaches piano, guitar, and drum lessons at two locations: in Litchfield on Mondays and Wednesdays at
ABC Music School and in New Milford on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the
New Milford Music Center. In between performances and lessons, Hank makes CDs of his live piano music.
