About Hank, his live piano music, lessons and CDs...
Hank grew up in Wilmette, IL, a north shore suburb of Chicago where he studied jazz piano with master teacher Alan Swain throughout his development years. Hank became the No. 1 All-State High-School Jazz Pianist for two consecutive years. He was awarded a full scholarship to DePaul University School of Music where he focused on both classical and jazz music, graduating with a Bachelors of Music Degree in Jazz Studies. In short, Hank's work history from age 15 to 27 was as a full-time piano player in Chicago in restaurants, country clubs, hotels, wedding bands, jazz groups, and blues bands. This big-city experience forged a dynamic piano style.
From age 27 to 35, Hank set out to play piano aboard cruise ships year-round and traveled world-wide. For 8 fun years, he played alongside talented musicians from all over the United States and other countries. As bandmaster for Princess Cruises, Hank directed the showband on many of their ships, including the Pacific Princess, the original "Love Boat" of the hit television series.
Hank, now 43 and happily married to his wife Karen, lives in New Milford, CT. Since 2008, Hank has been the resident piano player at J.D. Tucker's restaurant in Washington Depot, Thursday evenings and Sunday brunches. He plays live piano music for private parties, senior centers, and other events.
He also offers piano and guitar lessons to lucky students in Litchfield and New Milford. Contact Hank by calling 203-770-9239, or
